Yes. CrocoFocus uses Apple's Screen Time system at the OS level, which persists through restarts and app closures. Your bedtime shield reactivates automatically — no need to keep the app running in the background.
If you genuinely need to check a blocked app, you can unlock it temporarily. Tap the shield screen on your device — CrocoFocus will ask how many minutes you need. Once the time is up, Croco automatically restores the block. No excuses, no exceptions.
No. CrocoFocus hands off the heavy lifting to Apple's built-in Screen Time system, which has no meaningful battery impact. The app itself only runs briefly to apply your settings — then Croco handles the rest at the OS level.
CrocoFocus uses Apple's FamilyControls framework, which requires Screen Time authorization to apply app restrictions. This is a standard iOS permission managed entirely by Apple. We never see which specific apps you select to block — your choices stay private, even from us.

That picker is Apple's own — CrocoFocus can't change what it lists, and never sees what you pick. iOS builds the list from your Screen Time history rather than from what's installed right now, so apps you deleted long ago and websites you opened in Safari can still show up. If you'd rather see only the apps installed on this iPhone, open Settings → Screen Time, scroll to the bottom, and turn off Share Across Devices. That stops iOS from pooling usage data from your other Apple devices. History that already synced can take a day or so to disappear.
